Tiwari highlighted Pune's past development achievements, including the ₹750 crore provided by the UPA government through the JNNURM initiative. He appealed to Mohol to use his position to secure funds for the city's metro project, emphasizing the need for collective effort to advance Pune's infrastructure and alleviate the financial burden on its citizens. The Swargate metro station and multimodal hub are expected to be operational by September 2024. The metro line will be extended from Swargate to Katraj, benefitting residents in the South region of Pune, especially with the Katraj-Kondhwa Road project being widened, which will be the main road leading to Purandar airport. The Swargate-Katraj Metro will enhance connectivity to the airport.
