The new schedule includes a 2 p.m. arrival in Murdeshwar from Mangaluru Central on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and a 3:20 p.m. departure from Murdeshwar on the same days. The extension was requested by Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, who cited the need for direct connectivity for people from coastal Karnataka traveling to Tirumala, as well as those visiting family and business interests in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
