Looking to introduce 160-200kmph train on the existing network, IR need to upgrade the standards for the foundation in addition to track structure.
Using heavier rails of higher UTS (strength) and Close spacing of concrete sleepers are not enough to increase the speed of trains. Soil treatment, and protection (against erosion, failure), stronger bridges etc are also required.
