occurred near Kottapalli in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram district when the Rayagada Passenger train rear-ended the Visakhapatnam-Palasa train around 7 pm. The accident claimed 14 lives and injured 50 others. While discussing new safety measures, Vaishnaw stated that the Andhra train accident was caused by the driver and assistant driver being distracted by the cricket match. The Ministry is implementing systems to detect such distractions and ensure pilots and co-pilots focus on train operation. Vaishnaw emphasized the government's commitment to safety, investigating each incident thoroughly and taking measures to prevent recurrence. Notably, a preliminary railway investigation blamed the driver and assistant driver of the Rayagada Passenger train for the accident, citing their disregard of two faulty automatic signaling systems. Both the driver and assistant driver perished in the accident. While a full report by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) is yet to be made public, the initial investigation points towards negligence as a key factor in the tragic incident.

ke paas, shaam 7 baje, Rayagada Passenger train ne Visakhapatnam-Palasa train ko peeche se dhakka maar diya. Is accident mein 14 logo ki jaan gayi aur 50 log zakhmi ho gaye. New safety measures ke baare mein baat karte hue, Vaishnaw ne kaha ki Andhra train accident ki wajah driver aur assistant driver ka cricket match dekhne ki wajah se distraction tha. Ministry aise distraction detect karne aur pilots aur co-pilots ko train operation mein dhyan rakhne ke liye systems laga raha hai. Vaishnaw ne safety par dhyan dene ki baat kahi aur har accident ki jaanch karne aur uske dobara nahi hone ka promise kiya. Notably, preliminary railway investigation ne Rayagada Passenger train ke driver aur assistant driver ko accident ke liye zimmedar thahara, aur kaha ki unhone do faulty automatic signaling systems ko ignore kiya. Accident mein driver aur assistant driver dono hi mar gaye. Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) ki full report aabhi public nahi kiya gaya hai, lekin initial investigation mein negligence ko accident ka main reason bataya gaya hai.
