more... the shortage of transport fuel in southern Assam, Tripura, Manipur, and Mizoram, which has been facing a shortage due to landslides in the mountainous Dima Hasao district. These landslides, caused by heavy rains, damaged railway tracks in the Jatinga Lumpur-New Harangajao section, disrupting passenger and goods train services since April 25th. The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is operating a limited number of trains during the daytime on this hilly route, while hundreds of workers are working to restore full train services. The shortage of fuel and essential goods in the region is a result of the restrictions on the movement of goods trains due to the damaged railway tracks.
