This railway line will benefit 2054 villages and a population of 25 lakhs. The Union Cabinet had approved 1424 crores last August for the project, which includes the construction of the bridge. The representative of the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, confirmed the release of the tender for the new bridge and said construction will begin soon. A consultant firm has been appointed for three years to oversee the entire project, including civil work, tracks, safety, quality control and implementation. Separate tenders for various construction works have been issued by the North Central Railway and the tender finalization process is expected to be completed this month. With the doubling of the railway line, the construction work is expected to start at a rapid pace from November onwards, benefiting 2054 villages, 6788 square kilometers of area and a population of 25 lakhs. The work of installing coach indicators has also begun.
