A myth must corrected:
1/2 Mail, started in 1855 (HWH-RNG) with one FC Coach (Servant Accompany Provision), got named Evening Mail in 1859, reached Benaras in 1862 (much before CBE-Beypore train made maiden journey on March 1862 & which was forerunner of Nilgiri/Malabar/Island Exp/Bangalore Mail but is mistaken by one as MAS-MAQ Mail which incepted in 1940 after Malabar Exp got diverted as Cochin Mangalore!!) Salem-Coimbatore Track wasn't ready in 1862 & hence proposed Salem-Beypore train run as CBE-Beypore!! Bangalore Mail was not even born in 1862 forget 1855!!
1 Aug 1864: Bangalore...
more... Mail made maiden run as slip coach attached to Beypore-CBE-MAS Mail (MAS Mail later started terminating CBE & become Blue Mountain & later Nilgiri Exp which is second named train after Kalka Mail). Kalka Mail was already running in HWH-BSB!!
3 Aug 1864: Mail reaches Yamuna Bank (Delhi) with Coach Ferried at Allahabad.
29 Dec 1866 HWH aDeparture Mail reached first time in Delhi (Yamuna bridge ready & crossed on 1 Jan 1867)!! This date wrongfully is used by IR & Historians as Kalka Mail debut!!
PS: Information exist on Forum of Kalka Mail & MAS-MAQ Mail for anyone to find official Evidence & Snapshot!!
