* Flexifare policy must be reviewed as soon as possible in order to improve the occupancy of the affected trains, without losing on the revenue part. Paxs not getting reserved accommodation in normal trains and a large number of flexifare seats going vacant on the same routes is highly undesirable as it is loss of national resources and unnecessary trouble to citizens.
* There should be more dimensions to Flexifare policy other than the Fare and the number of seats booked. Flexifare should come into play only for the seats booked with in a certain period say 1 month of the date of journey i.e. seats booked well in advance should not come under purview of flexifare irrespective of large...
more... number of seats booked. A pax paying 4 months in advance at 50% dynamic fare is a big joke on hapless paxs by monopolistic IR.
* Tatkal & Flexifare surcharges both going together looks unethical. Tatkal can be made compulsory in all trains with number of tatkal seats capped to higher limit say 25-30% instead of adopting flexifares. The % of seats under may vary from train to train, which may be higher for premium & prestegious trains.
* Else Flexi fares should be kept mild so that paxs are not driven away to buses or airlines. Keeping 50% of seats with normal fare instead of present level of just 10% and restricting Max. flexi surcharge to 20/25% instead of current level of 40/50%
