Thanks. So the coaching depot staff do inspect the train before it leaves after passengers have boarded.
I know enroute inspections happen - roll-out inspection - where the staff sit in those small cubicles at the end of the PF at major stations.
Also, I have a couple of doubts.
1. PM takes 6 Hours for all inspections.
But...
more... what if a lot of staff are involved? Like if a train is late and has to return, then if many personnel are allotted, then the PM can be done much faster, isn't it?
2. Diesel locos always are idling, for long hours. Why so? Can't it be shut off and started only say about 15 minutes prior to its use?
