The Original name of VAPI Railway Station was Damaun Road ( Daman as of now a days)
Vapi was a very small village and Daman was Portugees Colony during British Raj and hence can be easily understood the name.
Later it was Named as Vapi.
My question is:
When...
more... the name Vapi was given to Daman Road?
Daman was not a part of India until 19 December 1961
Was during this time ( 1947 – 1961) the Name Vapi was changed ??
Any historical perspective?
Here is attached the Time Table and Gazzete Copy of 4th November 1864.
please wait...Translate to EnglishYo, check it - back in the day, VAPI Railway Station used to be called Daman Road, cause Daman used to be a Portuguese Colony during British rule, you get me? Then, they switched it up and started calling it Vapi, straight up. But here's the kicker - when did they make that change, you feel me? Daman wasn't even in India till 19 December 1961, so was it between 1947 to 1961 that they made the switch to Vapi? Any history buffs got the deets on this? Peep the Time Table and Gazzete Copy from way back on 4th November 1864.
please wait...Translate to HindiVAPI Railway Station ka Original naam Damaun Road tha (Daman aajkal)
Vapi bahut choti gaon tha aur Daman British Raj ke time Portugees Colony tha, isliye naam asaan samajh aata hai.
Baad mein iska naam Vapi rakha gaya.
Mera swaal hai:
Vapi ka naam Daman Road ko kab diya gaya tha?
Daman Bharat ka hissa nahi tha jab tak 19 December 1961 nahi hua
(1947 - 1961) ke dauraan kya Vapi ka naam badla gaya tha ??
Koi itihaasik drishtikon?
