plant as it is rich in beneficial properties and can be consumed as a dried herb, powdered, fresh, or as a juice or oil.

Top 8 Reasons to Eat Ginger Regularly
Pain relief
Eating ginger on a daily basis can relieve muscle pain by 25%, according to a study from the University of Georgia. Plus, this wonderful root can soothe pain during the menstrual cycle.

Lower cholesterol levels
Another study, which lasted for 45 days and involved 85 patients with high cholesterol levels, showed that 3 grams of ginger powder every day significantly reduced blood cholesterol levels. In addition, researchers speculate that it may also lower the risk of heart disease.

Improvement of the digestive tract
Ginger contains phenolic compounds that relieve gastrointestinal irritation. They also induce the production of bile and saliva, and thus can help the passage of food and fluids through the gastrointestinal tract. A study in 24 healthy subjects showed that consuming 1.2 grams of ginger powder before meals accelerated gastric emptying, thereby reducing indigestion by 50%.

Fight inflammation
Osteoarthritis is a common problem that leads to joint pain. A recent study of 247 people with osteoarthritis of the knee found that those who consumed ginger needed less medication and their pain was significantly reduced.

Improving brain function
Aging is greatly accelerated by oxidative stress and chronic inflammation, which lead to numerous age-related cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's.

Research has shown that ginger contains antioxidants and bioactive compounds that have powerful inflammatory responses that take place in the brain. One study in 60 middle-aged women found that ginger extract improved working memory and reaction time, which means it promotes brain health in a variety of ways.

Getting rid of nausea
Consuming ginger tea or raw ginger is an effective remedy for nausea, especially in the case of pregnancy, morning sickness, and cancer treatment. According to a review of 12 studies in 1278 pregnant women, 1.1-1.5 grams of ginger significantly reduced nausea.

Ginger Reduces the Risk of Heart Disease
High blood sugar levels are a major risk factor for heart disease. A recent study in patients with type 2 diabetes found that 2 grams of ginger powder on a daily basis reduced blood sugar and the risk of heart disease by at least 10%.

Anti-cancer properties
Ginger contains a substance called gingerol, which has been the subject of much research as a potential alternative cancer treatment. One study found that 2 grams of ginger extract on a daily basis reduced anti-inflammatory processes in the colon.
