Late Shiv Prasad Sahu was a prominent Congress leader and social worker in the then state of Bihar. He was a philanthropist and helped the poor. He worked for strengthening the Congress organization and established INTUC Union to fight for laborers' rights. He also established many high schools and Baldev Sahu College in Lohardaga. He was a strong advocate for youth development through sports and played a crucial role in making Lohardaga a district and bringing a railway line to the area. He also served as the MP from Ranchi Lok Sabha twice.
