Re# 6113799-42
With all due respect sir, I believe you appear to be exaggerating the facts a bit. Granted few MLAs returned back to their home ground of Tolamool to serve only and only their personal benefits, but just 2 of the 18 MPs switched sides; not to forget one of them - the then Barrackpore MP - the Kingpin of all Lollypop Lagelu GoondaRaj in Bengal had been back to BJP (and thanfully lost badly this time around). Rest have all remained with BJP only.

But it doesn't matter really - even 16-17
...
or now 12 MPs isn't a bad score either! For example, say even a neighbouring Jharkhand had (and even now has) far lower number of BJP MPs when compared to Bengal - and not to forget unlike Bengal, Jharkhand had long period of BJP rule at their State Govt previously - but able to score only 12 seats in 2019 elections, and now only 8 in this year's (2024) general elections.

Despite all this, Jharkhand has always reaped much better fruits in terms of Railways in the last several years. Two back2back separate daily trains to Kerala (zero such services from Bengal despite long pending demand), exponential Railway growth of the Jasidih - Dumka - Banka - Godda region (despite being under two separate Railway Divisions - both Headquartered in Bengal), multiple new services to various parts of the country - including extensions from ASN, among many more such services. I am not saying these things should not be done - Jharkhand continues to be an impoverished state to this date despite its rich mineral and industrial background, and this state deserves much more, no doubt (and not just in Railways). The main purpose of separation from Bihar even after over 2 decades has yet to be served - the rights of the sons and daughters of the soil - the Aadivaasis / the tribal people - whose contribution to India's Independence movement is unparalled, or even the rights of its bustling industrial cities are still far from being fulfilled.

All I am saying is that let Jharkhand receive what it truly deserves, but what wrong did Bengal do? In case even the most educated and learned people out here forgot, the state despite all adversities and challenges still continues to be among the country's top 5-6 states in terms of GDP or Tax contribution. Question is - is Bengal receiving back enough in return of the Tax contributed?

Everywhere you go across Bengal - BJP has emerged as the major option for the citizens of WB to voice their concerns. In most Urban and Suburban seats in South Bengal, BJP emerged as the close second/Runners-up, something unimaginable even a decade ago! People have chosen BJP to be their voice over the communists, who have been wiped out from the state already! And what about North Bengal? Look at the vote percentage in North Bengal in favour of the BJP - almost all seats in their pocket! My question is, what has Bengal, and particularly North Bengal received in all these years? How many new trains/services have we seen North Bengal getting in the last 10 years? Isn't North Bengal of paramount importance for the country's Defence, Trade and Tourism sectors? Has it received enough in return? Why is North Bengal still dependent on Assam and Kolkata for train connectivity across the country?

If you can answer these questions - which is besically the sentiments of the general public, I am sure you'll know why I reached my notions and conclusions, as visible in my previous comment. And please, please don't bother to utter irrelevant commentary like Jharkhand has one DubeyJi because of whom Jharkhand is reaping all benefits in Railways... who has asked BJP Bengal MPs to sit quietly gaping at the walls in the Parliament? Is this why the voters of Bengal entrusted them with their invaluable mandate - to stare and gape at the walls and roofs during Parliamentary sessions?

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
