This train needs to be speeded up...only way is to take away some stops I think....... :(...if more and more stops are augmented it would further slow down the train and the overtakes too..... :(
Providing more MEMU Trains and cancelling stopages at Eraniel,Kulithurai,Paravur,Sasthamkotta,Mavelikkara,Thrippunithara,Pudukad,Malur,Bangalore East....would do I think.....
if stops are added to this train.....now Jan Shatabdi overtakes this train at Puthukad...maybe in the near future we can see even the Kochuveli-Bangalore Express going to overtake this train :/
well I think the best should be done is to terminate Island Express at Trivandrum and provide a Trivandrum-Nagarcoil Passenger connection train for Keralites beyond TVC.....NCJ and CAPE dont need this train anymore I think coz of the arrival of new NCJ-SBC Express which goes through the shorter route via Madurai,Namakkal.....
or timings can be arranged in a way that Trivandrum-Chennai Egmore Ananthapuri Express can act as a connection train for Island from Trivandrum Central...
well thats not a problem at all coz CAPE-NCJ pass is just a rake movement for maintanence.....after Island is terminated at TVC...it can have its PM at TVC itself..... :)
Why it is said that in ghat sections MG Trains are more useful than BG ones.......well MG has less capacity and compared to BG Engines power is less for MG...But still I have never heard an MG Train never wanted banker or braker engines along a ghat section...maybe rarely...but when it is converted then before ghat entry.........bankers/brakers are added to provide additional security...could anyone explain ???

yes....Kochuveli-Velankanni Express is essential.......also wish for Kochuveli-Rameswaram Express and Kochuveli-Puducherry Express.......well but still desparately in need of Kochuveli-Velankanni Express
It would be 90 % sure that Nagore-Quilon Express erstwile MG Train would be retained as Karaikkal/Velankanni-Quilon Express....but Punalur-Sengottai GC Work would take a longer time......
Also I think of some demands to budget not relevent but still..........a new inter-city express between Trivandrum and Madurai via Punalur,Sengottai and commencement of Madurai-Punalur Passenger to Quilon ....... then after Palghat-Pollachi gets a BG line...extension of Amrita Express to Pollachi and de-linking of Nilambur Rajya Rani and making them separate....
Yea RMM-TVC Express via NCJ is the shortest route...if not daily a weekly/bi-weekly which can share slot with Cape-Rmm or a link express to TVC to CAPE-RMM Express...

Wish SR would extend Chennai Mail and Express to TVC as during olden times they used to start from TVC and later got truncated to QLN due to gauge conversion......also dont want the present mail to get re-routed............
After Punalur-Sengottai GC Work.....better Madurai-Punalur Passenger to be Madurai-Quilon Passenger coz of long route....or will this train be re-routed considering its patronage ?????? After GC will this train get good patronage?????
Punalur-Sengottai GC work completion is really an important task and it needs to be done fast........a 49 km connection line which would increase connectivity with TN and South Kerala...

Try to retain our own trains and please dont cry for extension of Ernakulam-Karaikkal Express and Pothigai Express etc since they are well patronaged...
hehe yea true :) instead of mangala extension.........SR could provide a new Rajdhani to Nizamuddin like the same done in Bangalore and thus making RajDhani a daily train and converting the newly introduced TVC-NZM via Itarsi train to Tri-Weekly with change in timings :)

Well not to blame...Karnataka has a daily Rajdhani train with NR Rake and SWR Rake...so SR should take initiative and provide an SR rake for making Rajdhani a daily service ........ TVC-NZM Express can be made tri-weekly and can be made to run in the old TVC-NDLS AC Special time slot ie) 12pm dep frm TVC...
Guruvayur-Punalur Fast Passenger has become a higly patronaged service and I think proposal for adding Sleeper Coaches.......after GC it would most probably a Guruvayur-Rameswaram Express and would be a super-hit train in South India :)
if TVC-NZM (via Itarsi) converted to Tri-Weekly and slot changed to 12pm.......then Swarna Jayanti and Millenium Expresses can be easily made into Bi-Weekly with RSA
Also by extensions I meant if the train is that much useful then it can be avoided...Mangala can be extended since its almost idle for 2 days......Pothigai and Karaikal-Ernakulam are heavily patronaged train and also has RSA.........Trains having bad patronage could be extended like Trichy-Tirunelveli Inter-City Express can be extended to NCJ/TVC since it has not that good patronage....
While Pothigai Express not fair coz only train from Sengottai to Chennai.....the same goes to Ers-sbc inter-city also coz lot of CBE People need that train and it has heavy patronage...it wud be quite hard if it got extended to TVC considering ERS and CBE Passengers...
Also see Bangalore has a DAILY SK tooo one via Hubli and another via Kacheguda.....likewise......Kochuveli-Chandigarh SK Express should be made daily as 3 days a week (via ALLP) and 4 days a week (via KTYM) .................Also TVC and KCVL trains can swap there destinations owing their patronage.......
TVC-GHY Expresses can be KCVL-GHY Expresses......TVC-Shalimar can also be KCVL-Shalimar Express and instead of that KCVL-SBC Express can be TVC-SBC Express with changes in Timings of CAPE-Dibrugarh Vivek Express...
As of one concern on Punalur-Sengottai is that since it is a ghat section which has speed restrictions and also a single line....and yet another thing is that railways would operate goods trains from Tuticorin Port to other parts since it is an easy way....so would it have the same fate of Mangalore-Hassan RailLine ??? :(
Think almost Tunnel widening and Jacketing of some bridges are completed........Aryankavu station would be shifted...it would be further west than the old station......Punalur-Edamon would be completed...hopefully think so atleast by next March...
I have a strong hope that during next budget maybe there would be a Kochuveli-Rameswaram Link Express to CAPE-RMM Express and a Kochuveli-Velankanni and Kochuveli-Puducherry Weeklies which shares same time slot....

Well its an idea I have got.........Kerala that arrives TVC around 2:30pm is almost resting for 2 days....so take an example....New Delhi-Trivandrum Kerala Exp arrives TVC @ 2:30PM.....then after maintanence the next day the same rake can be used for a new TVC-CBE Day Express which starts from TVC at the morning and comes back to TVC in the evening.......then next day that rake can go as Kerala Express and this cycle can be continued and we can get a new TVC-CBE Daily Day Express..........
Or another way is extension of Mangala Express to Trivandrum Central and making Kerala and Mangala Express under RSA....I think by this way a CBE day train or a CBE ONT can be made....hope so...possible ???
I think can be done with 3 rakes....Amrita arrives PGT at morning...then it can start as PGT-SBC inter-city express......from Bangalore also the return train starts to PGT.......Amrita reaches SBC and can have secondary maintenece there.....while the new rake reaches PGT by evening and can return to TVC as Amrita Express.....then it can have PM at TVC....so with 3 rakes......2 trains....how is it ?
I dont think so...coz all SBC bound trains have high demands....especially CBE also requires day time connectivity with SBC since there CBE-SBC Inter-City was extended to ERS.....so with respect to that this train can become helpful for both PGT and CBE passengers towards SBC....
Well I just meant this train will be helpful for CBE and PGT passengers....if this train is implemented then hope SBC-ERS can be extended to TVC as CBE & PGT gets back their much needed day time connectivity with SBC...
well I think much will not be done in the case of Kerala and Mangala Express....since the rakes need time for maintanence and are really long distance trains which travel most times........Amrita Express also no way since I think it would be extended to Pollachi after GC or that`s the talk being heard......
