Project ka target hai ki station ko city center banaaya jaaye, jisse passengers ko koi bhi kaam ke liye station se bahar jaane ki jarurat na pade. Prime Minister Narendra Modi ne February 26th ko online station ka redevelopment ka inauguration kiya tha, aur project next three months mein start hone wala hai. Railway ministry ka plan hai ki project ko phase-wise complete kiya jaaye aur station ko Howrah-Mumbai route ka model station banaaya jaaye.
