In Navi Mumbai, MMRCL has shortlisted three bidders to upgrade the Navi Mumbai Metro's AFC system. The upgrade will allow the use of QR codes, smart cards, and the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC). The project will involve upgrading the existing AFC gates, Ticket Office Machines, Excess Fare Offices, Station Computers, and Central Computers. The upgrade will also include hardware and software to support various payment methods including Contactless Smart Cards, NCMC cards, paper QR tickets, mobile QR tickets, message-based ticketing, web ticketing, and NFC media.
