Plan:-Take core from vskp to mas and from there take niligiri and catch toy train and visit ooty. and return also would be the same(MTP-MAS-VSKP).As we are 4 i wanted to book core 3ac to and from. but is it safe to travel in SL in niligiri? and what are the feasible options if my plan is not convenient?

From Mettupalayam lot of busses is there to Ooty.... On return instead of going to Chennai plan Via Mysore/Bangalore.... From Ooty to Mysore bus will take around 5hrs/ till Bangalore 8hrs... From Mysore/Bangalore you can catch direct train to Vizag...
I am travelling with family so travelling in bus will not be a feasible in my view.
my plan is to take niligiri till mas which takes 8-9 hours to reach mas and catch core in the mrng such that we can reach home by late night. taking trains from mys/sbc till vskp are pretty long 18-19 hours. so planned in this way

Toy train - Nilgiri - Coro will be good option but travel time is more... Else you can catch direct train to Vizag from Coimbatore...
Yes oneside we are taking toy train vskp-mas-core
mas-mtp-niligiri express and mtp-uad- toy train
in return will be taking bus to reach mtp station and take niligiri till mas and catch core.

This is good plan. Yes you can take coro from vizag arrive at MAS and take MTP thru blue mountain superfast exp. Return you can do the same , regarding the bus from ooty to mtp or mtp to ooty you have plenty of options available. It takes shorter time than toy train . Thankyou
