The most recent proposal, an elevated track from Mandhana to Anwarganj, with a revised cost of ₹995 crores, was sent to the Railway Board in December 2023 but faced further delays. The matter is once again in limbo, with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections hindering any further progress.
